Hostinger

Small businesses and bloggers commonly use shared hosting as a starting point for their low-traffic websites. In this type of hosting, you share the same physical server with several other hosting accounts.

The needs of other users will affect the memory and computing power your site can use. For instance, if there’s a sudden traffic spike on a website hosted on the same server, your page load time may increase.

VPS hosting is a service that uses virtualization technology to provide users with a virtual server with dedicated resources and an independent operating system.

  • Dedicated resources. Each user has their own server resource (vCPU, RAM, storage, operating system, and bandwidth) allocation.
  • Isolated environment. Virtual environments in a VPS run independently and fully isolated from each other, eliminating resource contention.
  • Complete control. Users have full root access over their VPS, allowing them to freely use and customize their hosting environment as superuser.

Cloud servers are virtual machines that run on physical servers…

You can choose between Shared Resources and Dedicated Resources cloud servers.

Every dedicated resources instance has its own dedicated CPU resources

A Droplet is DigitalOcean’s brand name for a virtual private server (VPS). Essentially, they are the same thing. A VPS is a virtualized server that mimics a dedicated physical server, providing you with your own set of resources and a dedicated operating system.

VPS is commonly used to deploy websites or applications built with custom frameworks, something that you can’t do with shared hosting given the limited customizability.

  • 跑现成的建站程序(如 WordPress),不打算改运行环境;
  • 流量不高,偶尔的波动可以接受;
  • 不想碰系统更新、安全补丁、备份;

  • 需要安装共享主机装不了的运行时或扩展;
  • 要跑常驻进程(队列、定时任务、自建服务);
  • 需要 root 改系统配置、装防火墙规则;
  • 多个站点要各自隔离资源,避免互相拖累;
